Down a rugged path does a pilgrim walk,
Filled with so much joy that he can’t help but talk,
Of the mercy he has found by the grace of his King,
The King that is the creator of everything.
For from this King the pilgrim was separated by sin.
Yet by grace the King’s Son has called him to follow Him in,
To a life of renewed fellowship with the Heavenly Father,
And that’s why the ruggedness of the path hardly seems a bother.
When compared to a life spent in fellowship with his King.
The King that is the creator of everything.
So down the path the pilgrim merrily follows the Son,
Into a life lived in honor of the Creator of everyone.
And tis his merry heart that helps his feet hold fast,
Striving for what’s ahead and forgetting the past.
