Pilgrim in this Land

As a pilgrim in this land
I traverse a terrain of shifting sands.
Ever moving towards my home
where my Father sits upon His throne.

Eye on Eternity

With an eye on eternity
I yield to God my life.
Basking in His sovereignty
to Jesus drawing nigh.
For in Him ever after holds
blessings that far surpass
riches seven times seven-fold
which only a moment last.

Nature’s Exclamation

Warm rays of sunlight falling all around
Birds in the trees making the most glorious sounds
In trees that are budding and blooming with so much splendor
Enthralling me and speaking to me with words that joyfully render
glory to God as with laughter they exclaim:
“All you’re seeing can’t possibly compare to His fame!
For if in us there’s so much beauty that you see
How much greater then is our Creator’s incomparable majesty!!”

Redemption

In a gracious act of the Father,
the Holy Spirit like rain descends.
He descends upon His for-known child,
yet the flesh He greatly offends.
Thus war ensues within this one,
over which should maintain control.
A war between Spirit and flesh rages on
waring fiercely for the man’s soul.
But the Spirit prevails against the flesh,
for He ever fulfills the plans.
The plans set forth by the Heavenly King
which include redemption of this man.

Books

When I listen I can hear the words.
the words that have no sound.
Yet, I hear them as I hear the birds,
that sing outside my window.
And, they’re proclaiming the same thing,
the same message as the birds.
They’re proclaiming Christ the King.
They shout of His majesty.
One shouts without sound,
the other without words.
Yet, their message so clearly resounds,
resounds of the glory and splendor and might,
resounds of the unparalleled wisdom,
as heralds of the heavenly kingdom.
